Two Rivers - coming soon!

Two Rivers is an album about movement: how direction changes over time. The title refers both to real places and lived experience: growing up alongside the river Lek, and growing maturity in Amsterdam by the Amstel.

Two rivers, two phases of life. Origin and departure and struggles with faith, and love.

The album opens with Where The River Runs, a reflection on boys becoming closest friends. On shared vulnerability, growing pains, and the quiet bonds that survive the passage from boyhood to manhood. In the first half of the record, faith begins to loosen its grip. Doubt seeps in. In songs like If There’s A God In Here and Alone In The Dark, belief gives way to uncertainty and solitude. All the while, the river keeps pulling toward new worlds, toward change.

In the second half, attention shifts toward human connection and responsibility. Love is tested by time and commitment (Johanna, Prisoners). In Turning of the Tide, the birth of children brings a sense of rest and reconciliation: a temporary stillness in the current. However, restlessness remains an undercurrent (Miles Away). The album follows the river further as it bends toward open water: ending at the shoreline in Into The Sea. An end and a new beginning at the same time. The course still unfolding.

Darkness Calling

Darkness Calling is a song inspired by Mark Hollis, the singer of the remarkable band Talk Talk, who has long been a profound influence on Tim Kleinfeld. Its lyrics are composed of words and lines drawn from a wide range of Talk Talk songs and quotes by Mark. The guitar solo is performed by René Brijker.

God is on our Side

This song reflects on the Paris Bataclan attacks and the way religion can be used to justify violence. It questions the dangerous certainty people claim in times of conflict—how both extremists and those responding to them can frame their actions as righteous. Against images of music turning into gunfire, the song contrasts faith as a banner for war with a quieter possibility: listening, talking, and choosing light over retaliation.

The Blue Hour

The “blue hour” is that in-between time just before sunrise or after sunset, when the night isn’t fully dark and the day hasn’t arrived. That image runs through the whole piece. The song reads as a wistful remembrance of young love: beautiful, slow-burning, intimate, and incomplete. It captures that feeling of standing in the half-light of memory, where everything is soft around the edges, and you’re not sure whether you’re mourning what was or what could have been.

Als Dit De Ruis Is

Overlanders is an Amsterdam-based musical group formed by Jabik de Vries, Leli Vero, and Tim Kleinfeld. In November 2012, they transformed a vacant building in Amsterdam into a recording studio. Joining forces with several other musicians, they secluded themselves for four days, a creative endeavor that culminated in the album ‘Als Dit De Ruis Is’. As one reviewer noted, the album “moves from intense spoken word to drawn-out ambient pieces, but, still, the poetic song is never far away.”

Als

Although a new album was initially planned for the summer of 2015, unforeseen circumstances delayed its release. Narrator and singer Jabik: “After a while, we felt those tracks had to be torn down and rebuilt before we could live in them.” Consequently, the album was released in parts, beginning with the single ‘Als’ in 2020.

Op Deze Stoel

‘Op Deze Stoel’ features Wilco Botermans and Joris Vermeulen on Theremin and Tenora, likely marking a world premiere for these unusual instruments playing a duet.

Uit De Diepte

Uit de Diepte is a song from the bottom of the ocean, featuring Wendy on vocals.

Sugar Radio

Longtime high school friends Kleinfeld, JT, Pit & Leli formed this Dutch Utrecht based group around the year 2000.

Debut album “Sugar Radio” was received with great enthusiasm by leading Dutch pop-magazines, which made PIAS distribute the album throughout the Benelux in an appealing wooden box.

MTV

Initially a studio project, Orange now hit the Dutch stages with their radio friendly indie pop.

The “live” experience was brought into the studio and resulted into the critically acclaimed 2004 EP “MTV”, a vulnerable, unpolished album which turned out to be their last.
