At the turn of the millennium, Tim Kleinfeld (1976) emerged as the energetic and charismatic frontman and multi-instrumentalist of Dutch band Orange, whose albums Sugar Radio (2002) and MTV (2004) received critical acclaim. Writing songs from an early age, he has developed a musical language of his own: atmospheric, melodic, and immediately recognisable.
Now based in Amsterdam, Tim’s career has followed a non-linear path. Alongside a successful career in media and tech as a director and entrepreneur, music remained a constant creative force. In 2012, he co-founded Overlanders, a spoken-word and music collective that transformed temporary and abandoned spaces into recording studios. Their debut album, Als Dit De Ruis Is (2013), was praised for its movement between intense spoken word, ambient passages, and poetic song, and led to a series of theatre performances and subsequent releases.
Two Rivers, his first solo album (release April 2026) balances urgency with reflection. Across twelve intimate, forward-leaning songs, Tim follows the current of a life in motion: music shaped by memory and experience, and driven by questions of origin, direction, and identity. Produced by Mark Saunders (Tricky, The Cure), the album feels immediate and focused, yet quietly vulnerable.
